Brief about Suryoday Trust

Suryoday Trust is a not-for-profit organization running a special school, Vocational Training and Skill Development centre in Vasai and Bhayandar for underprivileged children and young adults with Intellectual Disabilities with a focus on enabling them to integrate well into our society.

Founded in 2010 by members with decades of corporate experience, it currently works with 110+ children and young adults, borrowing its working style from the founder’s rigorous corporate work ethic, discipline and network.

  • Start with Hospitality and Housekeeping training.

  • Started with Vocational Training and Skill Development Centre with skill training like: Baking, Stitching/Art-Craft, Computer, Retail E-Commerce.
  • School building completed. All the children moved in April 2024.
  • Launched Project Pragati, a Vocational Training and Skill Development Centre in Bhayander.
  • Signed MOU with NIEPD (Govt of India) for development & implementation of Digital IEP
  • Found employement for 5 students in 2024

  • 4 more trustees onboarded. Total trustees: 9.
  • Expansion to 10 classrooms.
  • Computer training for students.
  • Receipt of approval for new school construction.
  • Art & Drama therapy workshop to enhance development.
  • Digitization of Individualized Education Program (IEP) to enable personalized development.
  • Access to Digital IEP given to 5 special schools across 5 states impacting a total of 3111 beneficiaries.
  • Innovative one-on-one online classes for children during the Covid-19 pandemic.
  • School Building architectural and construction plans finalized.
  • Alliance with IIMAAA Hyderabad Chapter Charitable Trust with addition of 3 more trustees. Total number of trustees: 11.
  • IEP expanded to 8 more special schools benefiting another 200 students.
  • Found employement for 2 students in 2022.
