Milestones and Achievements

Over the past year, Project Pragati has continued to make meaningful strides in empowering young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities through skill development, vocational training, and livelihood opportunities. The program has expanded its outreach, onboarded new young adults and strengthened partnerships with corporates and educational institutions. Our young adults have gained hands-on experience through initiatives such as handcrafted products sublimation prints, festival-specific ventures like Rakhi-making, and collaborations with local businesses.

Through regular training sessions, life-skill workshops, and guided employment exposure, Project Pragati has helped students build self-confidence, improve communication, and take significant steps towards financial independence.

Rakhi Stall

Our young adults with intellectual disability (ID) handcrafted Rakhis have found a special place at corporates like HDFC Life Insurance, Shemaroo Entertainment, and institutes such as JBCN International & Rohidas Patil Institute. These opportunities boost their confidence and open doors for a sustainable livelihood income.

Rakhi Bonus

Rakhi Bonus was distributed to pre-vocational and vocational students as a reward for their hard work and dedication. The bonus was earned through the stalls and products they created as part of the in-house employment program, recognizing their efforts and contribution to the initiative.

Diwali Stalls

This festive season, Suryoday Trust set up Diwali stalls across various corporate offices, showcasing beautiful handmade products crafted by our students with special needs. Each purchase not only added joy to the celebrations but also supported our mission of educating, training, and empowering young adults with intellectual disabilities. Through these stalls, employees experienced the true spirit of Diwali, spreading light, inclusion, and opportunities for all.

Creating Opportunities with Ginger Hotels

Ginger Hotels has been a valued support partner in our journey of creating meaningful employment opportunities for young adults with Intellectual Disabilities. Through their inclusive approach, one of our young adults have been placed at Ginger Hotels, enabling to showcase skills, build independence, and gain dignified employment. This collaboration has not only empowered our young adults but has also set an inspiring example of workplace inclusivity. Two more young adults have been shortlisted for internship.

In addition to providing employment opportunities, Ginger Hotels further extended their support by placing a special order for Welcome Kits for their Leadership Program, crafted by our young adults. This thoughtful initiative not only encouraged our students’ entrepreneurial abilities but also boosted their confidence by recognizing their work at a professional platform. Such partnerships strengthen our mission and highlight how corporate collaboration can truly transform lives.
